Uterine Fibroids

Uterine Fibroids

Fibroids are non-cancerous tumors which grow like a parasite, feeding off of the rich uterine blood supply. They react to hormonal changes and can grow or shrink over time. A fibroid places extra strain on the uterus itself - making normal rhythmic muscular contractions a struggle - thus causing more uterine cramping.

This image was created to be an antidote to typical image searches for female reproductive anatomy. Excellent for midwives, doulas, uterine massage groups, moon circles, red tent gatherings, body work courses and doctors offices.
