*Our Sleeping Children Series -Kidane & Tsega

Latest work from my Our Sleeping Children series. I was moved by the love story of a young woman I met while living in Israel. She is Dutch by birth and while living in Israel had fallen in love with an Eritrean refugee. Their love, faith and persistence enabled them to overcome the challenges of receiving a refugee status in a country that is notoriously hard on refugees. They relocated and are living this wonderful adventure of a life with their precious daughter. I was inspired deeply by their story during the painting process.
